Dr. Shaunic Stanford, DPT, PT

PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Shaunic completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Mount St. Joseph University in 2011.  She has a diverse breadth of professional experience in physical therapy. She began in the inpatient rehabilitation setting, working with a wide range of neurological disorders. Later, she became the lead physical therapist in the ICU at a level 1 trauma center, contributing to an early mobility program. Her journey then led her to become a traveling physical therapist, and her time in orthopedic outpatient therapy is where her interest in women's health emerged and deepened after the birth of her son. She completed pelvic floor coursework through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She advocates for a holistic and individualized approach to treatment. She is a certified Reiki practitioner, a skill she frequently integrates into therapy sessions.

Outside of the clinic, Shaunic is creative with screenwriting. She loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her family.

At East Bay Birth Collective….

  1. I offer in-person physical therapy care addressing pelvic and orthopedic health needs to address the body holistically through my practice, Sacral Pelvic Wellness

  2. I offer Your Pelvic Floor for Birth & Beyond to teach birthing people ways to tend and care for their pelvic floor during all stages of a pregnancy journey, from preconception through postpartum

    Why physical therapy at EBBC?

Physical therapy and self-care for the pelvic floor at all stages of the reproductive journey can help instill a greater awareness of the resilience and strength that is present, and thus make the return to health and balance in your pelvis that much smoother after birth. My own experiences with conception, pregnancy loss and birthing my own have deeply informed how I view my pelvis and my womb, as more than just a vehicle for life but as a foundation for the entire body in how we move in this world.
